WhatsApp update will now support notification extension for iOS 10 users

WhatsApp – an instant messaging app has been receiving much trouble so far. Recently WhatsApp has released the new update for devices running iOS 10. Now iOS lovers will be able to access WhatsApp new version – 2.18.80. With this new version, WhatsApp released a notification extension support that would allow users to view received media files from the notification screen itself.

Along with an easy download from the notification itself, the update would also enable the preview of received content just by swiping down the notification panel. The report also states that to view media files, users will have to peek and Pop or swipe down the notification. Though the change has not completely rolled out. WhatsApp is planning to launch the rollout after the messaging app some improvements to the platform for better user experience. Though there are no words yet when will this extension reach the Android users.

WhatsApp also rolled out some new features for iOS users. In new update – WhatsApp brings Siri support for group messages in WhatsApp. Now you no longer need to access your device to type the message. WhatsApp also launched the forwarded the tag feature with a hope to fight misinformation and fake news.

The report added that the new “notification extension” will be made available to users after WhatsApp adds improvements in the next update. Moreover, WhatsApp seems to be working on its security features. Recently company is working on a security feature called suspicious link. Though the feature is available to only a small group of beta testers. This new feature will also warn users by searching for unusual characters when they try to open the suspicious link. The characters will be highlighted in red and users will get two options – either to open the link or go back.
